Happy 6 month publishing anniversary, Brooke! That’s a HUGE accomplishment. 🎉

I hope your dad and daughter are okay.

Regarding the slog, it seems to be going round. I’ve felt the same the last few weeks and it wasn’t until the long weekend over Easter that I caught up on sleep and carved out time to write that I felt motivated again.

I love how you turned your struggle to write into a post. It’s relatable, as most struggles are. :)

Brooke, you’re killing it. Keep going. I don’t have a favorite, though I did connect with your piece about your daughter’s speech delay.

After following so many new online writers, I’ve noticed that what you’re going through right now is very common. New writers struggle with what to write about, so they write about the fact that they’re struggling. It happens ALL the time, and at this point I just consider it part of the process. I have certainly had my own share of writing about the struggle to keep up with my writing.

Huge props to you for pushing through. You’re absolutely right, the world will not end. But you published, anyway.

One final thing to consider: after 26 weeks (!) it might be a good time to reevaluate your goals. Are they still serving you? Are there any changes you want to make? I remember sticking with published weekly essays even though it no longer made sense to stick with them, but I felt like I HAD to, for whatever reason. Changing your goals is not failure, it’s inevitable.

Thanks for the words of encouragement and the reminder that I don't have to arbitrarily live and die by publishing weekly. Ohhh... taking the time to stop and reflect on my goals and intentions - that's a great idea. Thank you!

You’re welcome! In my own experience the reevaluation was freeing and relieving.

Congratulations, Brooke! No. You don't have to write for anyone else each week. But I, for one, would miss your weekly spot on my roster of reading.

Most memorable to me is still how you troll airBnB for ideas to make your own home more homey!

And that essay typifies why I look forward to your work. It is quirky. On the edge of brainstorming. Slightly off kilter and irreverent.

There have been many since then, but that was the first time insat up and said "this is someone I want to follow"

I understand the push pull on your available 24 hours. But I hope you will continue to find a few minutes every few weeks to continue to share your beautiful mind with the rest of us mere mortals.
